Task
For almost ten years, a large area in the middle of Menden was the victim of many “ifs and buts”– now the unloved gap between buildings has been transformed into a property that elegantly enriches the cityscape. Four storeys are available for retail, and great importance was attached to the aesthetics of the façade and the feel-good factor inside the building. To ensure this, contemporary technical solutions were required: extensive air spaces as well as large window fronts and skylights to let in plenty of daylight place high demands on the optimal and economical temperature control of the interior spaces. As the elegant sandstone façade was not available for the use of building services, the building's air supply was to be provided entirely via the roof. The VENTAFLEX Classic system was the first choice thanks to its low weight – even with large duct diameters – and its flexible adaptability to any external conditions.
