The duct form influences the air flow

Round or oval air ducts without any ‚dead angles‘ and with the smooth surface of the GRP-material are more streamlined than rectangular air channels and therefore have a significantly lower frictional resistance. Moreover round air ducts have 20% less surface area than square channels with the same performance – this means significantly less material use and less weight of the duct system.

Comparison of different duct cross-sections

The round cross-section as provided (100%) shows how high the material use for the ducts and how high the pressure loss is for identical air volume. The classic square air channel is the most disadventageous. An argument for classic square air channels is the low installation height – here the oval VENTAFLEX air duct would be the better alternative.

The form of the VENTAFLEX air ducts is more energy efficient

Round and oval air ducts are clearly more streamlined than square air channels. Thus round air ducts have 20% less surface than square channels with the same performance.
Due to the small friction loss a small fan can be used. When installing VENTAFLEX air ducts round and oval operating costs are sustainably saved.
