Task
The wholesale supermarket building, which was constructed 60 years ago, is to undergo a phased energy-efficient renovation and, at the same time, improvements to its fire protection. One of the challenges is that the retail business must continue to operate without interruption. With the installation of two new HVAC units with heat recovery and a new refrigeration system, the time had come to replace the old sheet metal ducts with modern, insulated ducts that meet current energy standards. Since parts of the existing system are still in place, the ability to connect the new ducs to the old ones was a prerequisite for the choice of product. In addition, extra fire dampers had to be installed at defined locations to meet higher safety standards. The client chose air ducts from the VENTAFLEX Classic Oval range: apart from being available in large dimensions, the system is ideal for roof installation due to its low weight.
