Task
Consistently high numbers of primary school pupils, space-intensive educational concepts, the desire for all-day care and, last but not least, high energy requirements for public buildings are the reasons for the current “summer construction site” in Altenberge. Over five decades, the buildings were constructed, which are now to be combined and restructured to provide space for up to six entry-level classes. The ventilation concept was based not only on the effectiveness of the new system, but also on the prospect of a very good air atmosphere in all areas of learning and life at the school: students who feel comfortable are more likely to learn.
It made sense to connect the various building complexes in a space-saving manner using underground supply lines and to install two stylish ventilation towers in the outdoor area: Efficient heat recovery is part of the energy concept, which is partly subsidized by programs such as “KfW Energy-Efficient Construction.”
In this case, choosing the best partners for the project was literally a matter of proximity: rarely have LAVANTUS air ducts had such a short journey!
